Write for Us
Villatic Garden welcomes a small number of guest articles from gardeners and growers who know their subject first hand. We would rather publish one useful guide than ten thin ones, so please read the guidelines before you pitch.
What we are looking for
- Practical guides on the topics we cover: growing, trees and shrubs, flowers, vegetables and herbs, indoor plants, garden design, soil and water, pests and diseases, water features and lighting, and seasonal jobs.
- First-hand experience: what you planted, built or fixed, with real measurements, dates and results.
- Clear advice that says when the answer depends on climate or soil.
Guidelines
- Original work. The article must be written by you, must not have appeared elsewhere, and must not be produced in bulk or by simply rewording other pages.
- Length and shape. Aim for 1,200 to 2,000 words with clear headings, a short answer near the top, and a step list or table where it helps.
- Accuracy and safety. Cite recognised sources such as extension services or the Royal Horticultural Society where it matters. Electrical work, tree work, pesticides and water near children need a clear warning and a pointer to a qualified professional.
- Photos. Send your own photos, or tell us where they came from. We cannot use images you do not have the right to share.
- Links. One link to your own site or profile in the author box is fine. Links inside the article must be useful to the reader and relevant. We do not publish articles that exist only to place a link.
- Editing. We edit for clarity, accuracy and house style, and we may decline or ask for changes.
Paid and sponsored posts
We do not sell links. If a post involves payment, products or any other exchange, it is marked as sponsored and its outside links are marked as sponsored too, as search engines require. Sponsored posts must still meet every guideline above.
